Isolated Wax Records Announces Showcase for First Ever SXSW Excursion

San Jose label will feature an entire night of Underground Hip Hop at Club Pachanga in Austin, TX, on Thursday, March 15, 2012

February 15, 2012, San Jose, CA -- Isolated Wax Records today announced their first ever 2012 South by Southwest (SXSW) visit, where they will host an entire night of Underground Hip Hop during the internationally recognized music week in Austin, on Thursday, March 16, from 9pm-3am, tagged “Prog Rap Attack”. The showcase will be held at Club Pachanga, one of the few premiere Hip Hop clubs located on the Riverside, in the heart of the music capital of the world, on 2120 E Riverside Dr., and will include appearances by some of the most innovative talent in the trade. 

“We deserve to be heard,” says Chip Lyas, Operations Director of Isolated Wax Records. “There are so many shows to watch in SXSW, but none are primarily focused on Progressive Rap music. We plan to use Austin as a platform to enrich the culture with the art form behind the genre and hope to reverse negative implications rap has been tainted with all these years.”

Prog Rap Attack will consist of performances by a collective of artists who are colleagues and collaborators with Isolated Wax, associated with a wide range of record labels including Mush Records, Hellfyre, Project Blowed, M9 Entertainment, Stonesthrow Records, Fake Four and more. Confirmed acts on the bill are as follows: Louis Logic (NYC), Subtitle (LA), Megabusive (SJ, CA), PremRock & Willie Green (NY), Gel Roc (LA), Marq Spekt (ATL, GA), Riddlore (AUS, TX), Open Mike Eagle (LA), J the Sarge (Humboldt), and more to be announced.
